An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Pons in the 14th minute of play forced Los pibitos de mardel's goalkeeper Elpidio Cutberto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fernando Redondo made in the 16th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by C.A Boca Juniors's Joonatan Kerstens. In the 19th minute Patricio Guillerme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agustin Munio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Los pibitos de mardel's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Gustavo Simão came free, but Elpidio Cutberto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Guillerme couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in C.A Boca Juniors's zone, Benicio Ramirez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Agustin Munio came out of the goal and Benicio Ramirez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jule Sylta to strike the kick off in the second half. A nice corner shot did that Luis Erramun got away a dangerous shot.
