The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Pomona AFC's Bernardino Telmo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cayetano Medero in the 4th minute of play. In the 5th minute, Lars Jereminsen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 7 minutes into the match, Arturo Sugar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ash Appleton. The Diablos Futbol Banda's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arturo Sugar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 14 minutes into the match, Pomona AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Prudencio Bikendi came free, but Bernardino Telmo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jose Bertol hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Prudencio Bikendi managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Diablos Futbol Banda's supporters rose to their feet, but Prudencio Bikendi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardino Telmo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 25th match minute, Pomona AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sander Bust to maneuver through the defense. Arturo Sugar hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Prudencio Bikendi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 31st minute Lars Jereminsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardino Telmo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Pomona AFC's Bernardino Telmo got control of the ball when Prudencio Bikendi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Prudencio Bikendi came free with the goalkeeper in the 33rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Bernardino Telmo could save by the left post. In the 36th minute Frantxizko Bollo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardino Telmo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 37 in the game by Prudencio Bikendi from a close distance when the talented Bernardino Telmo managed to make a qualified save. Pomona AFC's players were relieved. If Arturo Sugar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Vito hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. If Sander Bust had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amador Patxi in the 45th minute of play forced The Diablos Futbol Banda's goalkeeper Ash Appleton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Amador Patxi made the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes, The Diablos Futbol Banda's Cayetano Medero shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bernardino Telmo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in The Diablos Futbol Banda reached it. Ash Appleton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arturo Sugar in the 55th minute of the match. Ash Appleton stood somewhat misplaced when Amador Patxi came free in front of goal and shot 0-3 to the left of him in the 56 minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amador Patxi in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ash Appleton saved The Diablos Futbol Banda from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Pomona AFC's zone, Lars Jereminsen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardino Telmo came out of the goal and Lars Jereminsen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Haroldo Fernandez hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cayetano Medero in the 66th minute of play forced Pomona AFC's goalkeeper Bernardino Telmo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernardino Telmo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cayetano Medero in the 69th minute of play. In the 71st minute Prudencio Bikendi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardino Telmo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ash Appleton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arturo Sugar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 76 minutes into the game, Prudencio Bikendi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Bernardino Telmo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ash Appleton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amador Patxi, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. A collision led to The Diablos Futbol Banda getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Horacio Policarpio hit a great ball. Pomona AFC's Berdaitz Polentinos was substituted for Amador Patxi. After 86 played minutes The Diablos Futbol Banda got a freekick which was hit by Horacio Policarpio. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Pomona AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
