Teofilo Amato was left in no man's land by his defense there! Santo Rosario stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Slawomir Drapinski's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. In the 40th minute, Slawomir Drapinski left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Estudiantes de La Plata fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rigoberto Lozano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With his leg Santo Rosario managed to avoid a goal in the 63rdth minute, when Estudiantes de La Plata's Jefferson Kaluzny fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Slawomir Drapinski took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Santo Rosario to make any attempt to save it. A hard shot 71 in the game by Slawomir Drapinski from a close distance when the talented Santo Rosario managed to make a qualified save. Piquete's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dante Berto in the 74th minute of play forced Estudiantes de La Plata's goalkeeper Teofilo Amato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Bartolo Otsoko fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the game, Slawomir Drapinski recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Santo Rosario. Slawomir Drapinski showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-6. Santo Rosario was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tolek Kochniarczyk showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-7 in the 94 minute of play. Rigoberto Lozanos short, quick shot in the 97thth minute got Santo Rosario to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cleto Nuno during the 98th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match was over Estudiantes de La Plata could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Piquete throughout the match.
