Aristides Matei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerardo Artaldo in the 10th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Benito Guillelmo notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of PEÑAROL URUGUAYO's Aristides Matei. Aristides Matei was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Papagayos's Saturnino Odol proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Papagayos from getting a goal against them. Aristides Matei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Vachon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Paulo Beliran fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Papagayos's protests and gave Paulo Beliran a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Papagayos getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Paulo Beliran hit a great ball. Aristides Matei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Bermudo in the 40th minute of play. In the last second Saturnino Odol throw himself and got hold of the ball when Serafin Abaunza in the 43rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 45th minute of the match Paulino Elizardo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Saturnino Odol showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Placido Koldobika received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Saturnino Odol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 48 played minutes Papagayos got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Vachon. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlos Bermudo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Serafin Abaunza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Benito Guillelmo came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Papagayos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benito Guillelmo couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, PEÑAROL URUGUAYO's Paulino Elizardo got a free kick in the 62nd minute. PEÑAROL URUGUAYO's Aristides Matei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Bermudo in the 64th minute of play. Luis Eleder's late challenge caught a Papagayos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luis Eleder helped the player get up and apologised. Luis Eleder hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Gerardo Artaldo took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aristides Matei. Aristides Matei dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. When PEÑAROL URUGUAYO's Serafin Abaunza in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Papagayos's goalie prevented a goal. Luis Eleder got his second yellow card in the match during the 76th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Luis Eleder kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Papagayos's Aristides Matei threw himself towards the right post 79 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Carlos Bermudo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Benito Guillelmo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Aristides Matei made a huge save. Aristides Matei made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Benito Guillelmo sent off a good shot on target. Aquilino Tano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Saturnino Odol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 86th match minute, PEÑAROL URUGUAYO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Generoso Rivero to maneuver through the defense. Through an outstanding action, after 87 minutes, Aristides Matei successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Aristides Matei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Bermudo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Placido Koldobika came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the PEÑAROL URUGUAYO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Placido Koldobika couldn't finish the play. Placido Koldobika might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Saturnino Odol. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Placido Koldobika ran back to his position shaking his head. Placido Koldobika sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 95 minutes, Serafin Abaunza mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PEÑAROL URUGUAYO and the Papagayos players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, PEÑAROL URUGUAYO's Serafin Abaunza got a free kick in the 95th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Papagayos had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
