Spectators: 7482 (Terracing: 5613, Seating: 1720, VIP seats: 149) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Segundo Jakobe made the kick off which started today's match. 2 minutes into the game, one of Mailín:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 3rd minute there was a penalty for Las Pulguitas Rugby. Gerardo Claude stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Gerardo Gutxi. 1-0. In the 8th minute, Manuel Fernandez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mailín's Segundo Jakobe got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roque Orkatz during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Mailín's Roque Orkatz got a free kick in the 14th minute. Gerardo Claude's late challenge caught a Mailín's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gerardo Claude helped the player get up and apologised. Gerardo Claude hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Gerardo Claude took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gerardo Gutxi. Gerardo Gutxi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After 29 played minutes Mailín got a freekick which was hit by Christian Ubarna. Gerardo Claude was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 30th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Hipolito Gaitan hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Gerardo Claude was extremely unlucky when he, in the 36th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Gerardo Gutxi had great luck who in the 37thth minute grab hold of the ball when Gerardo Claude from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. If Gerardo Claude had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the game, Gerardo Claude lined in a short shot 3-0 behind a frustrated Gerardo Gutxi. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When Bruno Sanchez fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Las Pulguitas Rugby's protests and gave Bruno Sanchez a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Mailín booed when Las Pulguitas Rugby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Sanchez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Generoso Freire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Segundo Jakobe in the 53rd minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Gerardo Claude put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Gerardo Gutxi. The supporters of Mailín booed when Las Pulguitas Rugby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Sanchez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd minute, Melchor Garin made a precise shot to the right of Generoso Freire. Las Pulguitas Rugby's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. After 75 minutes of play, Las Pulguitas Rugby's Gerardo Claude made it 6-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gerardo Gutxi was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Las Pulguitas Rugby's Cristo Berriotxoa in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mailín's goalie prevented a goal. Mailín's Gerardo Gutxi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerardo Claude in the 83rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Mailín's zone, Gerardo Claude stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerardo Gutxi came out of the goal and Gerardo Claude tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 88th match minute, Mailín was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Segundo Jakobe to maneuver through the defense. Cristo Berriotxoa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gerardo Gutxi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gerardo Claude went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 7-1 was the resulting score. Mailín's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
