Lanus's Kristen Kronstad was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Roman Txeru in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some careless play in the Aguila Romana defense, Ángel Labruna kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roman Txeru. The Aguila Romana fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roman Txeru should have stopped the shot. Rodolfo Leheren kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Jardel Cabezon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jardel Cabezon in the 49th minute of play forced Lanus's goalkeeper Gaston Chuan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jardel Cabezon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Aguila Romana's Roman Txeru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Leheren in the 57th minute of play. In the 59th minute, Jardel Cabezon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 61st match minute, Aguila Romana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Modesto Lander to maneuver through the defense. When Jardel Cabezon came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Aguila Romana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jardel Cabezon couldn't finish the play. 72 minutes into the game, Jardel Cabezon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Gaston Chuan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 79th minute Aguila Romana were awarded a corner. Marcin Prosowski went to the cornerflag to take it. Aguila Romana's Marcin Prosowski was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gaston Chuan in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Americo Dorio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gaston Chuan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. 97 minutes into the match, Aguila Romana's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Leheren came free, but Roman Txeru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Lanus fans' excitement grew in the 97th match minute when Lanus's Rodolfo Leheren looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal.
