Abuba Akotonon FC's Cecilio Tristan got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 15th minute of the match, Adrian Păunescu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Hugo Orlando Gatti saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Cecilio Tristan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cleto Walme having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Makareus Manoukarakis got free with Hugo Orlando Gatti in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cleto Walme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vânderson Barbosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 28 minutes Duffensores Springfield's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Genaro Elivareo who took care of the corner kick. At last the ball reached Lance Veloz at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Duffensores Springfield. 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Makareus Manoukarakis in the 35th minute of play forced Abuba Akotonon FC's goalkeeper Hugo Orlando Gatti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 42 played minutes Abuba Akotonon FC got a freekick which was hit by Ramiro Rey. Cleto Walme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cecilio Tristan in the 48th minute of play.

The wind increased when Cecilio Tristan made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Duffensores Springfield's zone, Cecilio Tristan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cleto Walme came out of the goal and Cecilio Tristan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Abuba Akotonon FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Cecilio Tristan hit a great ball. Hugo Orlando Gatti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Salvador Aresti in the 56th minute of the match. In the 66th minute, Alfonso Sasoin sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Abuba Akotonon FC's Hugo Orlando Gatti didn't even have to move. Hugo Orlando Gatti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matias Txeru in the 78th minute of play. Abuba Akotonon FC's Hugo Orlando Gatti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Makareus Manoukarakis in the 81st minute of play. Hugo Orlando Gatti stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Salvador Aresti's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Adrian Păunescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Orlando Gatti having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cecilio Tristan in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cleto Walme saved Duffensores Springfield from getting behind. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Abuba Akotonon FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
