Andik Faturrahman got a free kick in the 19th minute. Julianda Saputra blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Xencio Millan having to make a save. Julian Efraim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Gavino Iratxo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Julian Efraim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gavino Iratxo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Efraim in the 25th minute of the match. Julian Efraim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gavino Iratxo having to interfere. After 34 played minutes Cardiff City FC got a freekick which was hit by Jairo Ler. 40 minutes into the match, Real Espartillar's goalkeeper Gavino Iratxo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Efraim. Julian Efraim who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 43rdth minute tested the skills of Gavino Iratxo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After the first half Real Espartillar were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Julian Efraim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gavino Iratxo having to interfere. Julianda Saputra was extremely unlucky when he, in the 57th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After a defensive mix-up in Real Espartillar's zone, Julian Efraim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gavino Iratxo came out of the goal and Julian Efraim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 59 minutes into the match, Real Espartillar's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Efraim came free, but Gavino Iratxo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 60 minutes into the match, Cardiff City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Freddy Santana came free, but Xencio Millan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jaques Custermans during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Julian Efraim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gavino Iratxo having to interfere. Real Espartillar's Albano Garoa was substituted for Fabrizio Capobianco. After having played for 80 minutes, Julian Efraim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cardiff City FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julian Efraim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 83rd match minute, Cardiff City FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jairo Ler to maneuver through the defense. 84 minutes into the game, Baltasar Bertin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cardiff City FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Espartillar the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 84th minute of the game. One of Cardiff City FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Real Espartillar:s goal. 87 minutes into the match, Cardiff City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Julianda Saputra came free, but Xencio Millan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Renan Guerreiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Real Espartillar supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Real Espartillar would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
