Ronny Beard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Gilabert, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Jesus Nataniel hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Alfonso Gilabert managed to get in a good position for a shot. Defensores del Ángel Gris's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfonso Gilabert was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronny Beard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The supporters of Defensores del Ángel Gris booed when Faro Norte MARPLA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ezequiel Rencio didn't get a good kick on the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Defensores del Ángel Gris's goal looked a bit too open when Romeo Leobardo came free, but Uriel Chorche reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Defensores del Ángel Gris getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Eleuterio Estebano hit a great ball. Erlandas Gražys took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Uriel Chorche. Defensores del Ángel Gris's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Defensores del Ángel Gris supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Defensores del Ángel Gris would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
