Bumin Mete was slow to take the kick. During this time NYC United's players had a chance to rest. NYC United's Bumin Mete was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Pontus Nordström in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 81st minute Eliseo Tejada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pontus Nordström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pontus Nordström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pastor Montrelle in the 99th minute of play forced Santa Margarita's goalkeeper Pontus Nordström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santa Margarita were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of NYC United for a fine match.
