Tauri Koha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mário Súľovský took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Bartolome, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Estudiantes de La Plata's Joel Barco was substituted for Atilano Poz. Tauri Koha came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Estudiantes de La Plata's Florentino Rodas. But to his dismay, Florentino Rodas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Eleuterio Servando was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 61 minutes into the match. Estudiantes de La Plata's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
