An unexpectedly hard shot by Harry Deckberg in the 18th minute of play forced Newell´s's goalkeeper Cristobal Estavan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristobal Estavan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Izotz in the 30th minute of play. After some careless play in the Newell´s defense, Mauro Izotz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cristobal Estavan. The Newell´s fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristobal Estavan should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Newell´s getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Tomás Lecanda hit a great ball. Majadita FC's Pablo Guipuzkoa couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 37th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Newell´s. Newell´s's Cristobal Estavan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Deckberg in the 39th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Isidoro Ramires hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Izotz in the 47th minute of play forced Newell´s's goalkeeper Cristobal Estavan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Cristobal Estavan came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Majadita FC's Mauro Izotz. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Amancio Bilintx managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newell´s's supporters rose to their feet, but Amancio Bilintx was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Federico Reyes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 67th minute, Melquiades Esiquio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Majadita FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. Newell´s's Faustino Maura got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristobal Estavan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Melquiades Esiquio in the 79th minute of the match. In the 81st match minute, Newell´s was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Faustino Maura to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Harry Deckberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristobal Estavan was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Cristobal Estavan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Melquiades Esiquio in the 88th minute of the match.
