With a left leg Cecilio Jax saved San Martin de Tucuman from getting behind. 12 minutes into the match, PiCaNTeS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ubaldo Veto came free, but Alfredo Otoniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cecilio Jax stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Everardo Calvino's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. 19 minutes into the match, PiCaNTeS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Paulino Lamberto came free, but Alfredo Otoniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After taking down the ball on PiCaNTeS FC's corner Rodrigo De Paul fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Cecilio Jax quite easily take care of the ball. Cecilio Jax showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Everardo Calvino, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. San Martin de Tucuman's Cecilio Jax played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Everardo Calvino in the 23rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulino Lamberto got free with Alfredo Otoniel in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Alfredo Otoniel managed to avoid a goal in the 31stth minute, when San Martin de Tucuman's Paulino Lamberto fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Cecilio Jax showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Everardo Calvino in the 35th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulino Lamberto got free with Alfredo Otoniel in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 38th minute of the match San Martin de Tucuman got a corner. PiCaNTeS FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Anastasio Amesti ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ovidio Ignazio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cecilio Jax having to interfere. Alfredo Otoniel made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Bartolo Harkaitz sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of San Martin de Tucuman booed when PiCaNTeS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celestino Libertad didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulino Lamberto made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 48thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Alfredo Otoniel would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paulino Lamberto to strike the kick off in the second half. Leo Messi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. PiCaNTeS FC made a substitution. Tiburcio Tono replaced Siro Urki. PiCaNTeS FC's Nicanor Elodio was substituted for Ovidio Ignazio. 63 minutes into the game, Everardo Calvino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Cecilio Jax was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. PiCaNTeS FC's Alfredo Otoniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bartolo Harkaitz in the 67th minute of play. Alfredo Otoniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulino Lamberto in the 70th minute of play. Alfredo Otoniel came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by San Martin de Tucuman's Paulino Lamberto. But to his dismay, Paulino Lamberto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Alfredo Otoniel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcial Munio's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. 77 minutes into the match, Marcial Munio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfredo Otoniel. PiCaNTeS FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcial Munio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. If Marcial Munio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When San Martin de Tucuman's Marcial Munio in 84 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Alfredo Otoniel guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 88thth minute of the game Gabriel Jesus who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but San Martin de Tucuman's Cecilio Jax was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tiburcio Tono made in the 91st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Everardo Calvino. Cecilio Jax showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Jesus in the 95th minute of the match. PiCaNTeS FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
