Aldo Argoitz might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eloy Aimar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aldo Argoitz ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 11 minutes, Feliberto Havier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sportivo Pejerrey's supporters crossed their fingers, but Feliberto Havier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sportivo Pejerrey's Eloy Aimar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aldo Argoitz in the 13th minute of play. In the 14th minute Geronimo Venceslas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casimiro Olivar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eloy Aimar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cosme Frederico, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sportivo Pejerrey's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Aldo Argoitz was slow to take the kick. During this time Lunatic FC's players had a chance to rest. Eloy Aimar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aldo Argoitz, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 34th minute Aldo Argoitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloy Aimar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 42 minutes into the game, Dag Tonheim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sportivo Pejerrey's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lunatic FC the free kick. Dag Tonheim kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. When Xuan Zamora came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Lunatic FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xuan Zamora couldn't finish the play. In the 44th minute, Feliberto Havier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aldo Argoitz made a kick off. Aldo Argoitz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Lunatic FC's Roberto Lewandowski slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eloy Aimar. That made the score 0-1 after 58 minutes of play. Aldo Argoitz took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eloy Aimar. Eloy Aimar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. When Patricio Nel came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Lunatic FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Nel couldn't finish the play. With his leg Eloy Aimar managed to avoid a goal in the 75thth minute, when Lunatic FC's Aldo Argoitz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. From close distance Aldo Argoitz pressed in the 0-4 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 78 minutes into the game. When the match clock showed 83 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Roberto Lewandowski sped through Sportivo Pejerrey's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eloy Aimar. The audience was convinced that Aldo Argoitz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eloy Aimar was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. In the 89th minute, Sportivo Pejerrey's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cosme Frederico fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With a little luck, Sportivo Pejerrey's Eloy Aimar got control of the ball when Aldo Argoitz tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sportivo Pejerrey's Rosendo Lohitzun got a free kick in the 92nd minute. When the match was over Lunatic FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sportivo Pejerrey throughout the match.
