The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rodolfo Calvet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matthieu Larrouy in the 3rd minute of play. 6 minutes into the game, Academia de Campeones's Kai Havertz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ovidio Cristos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kermit Froggaard in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ovidio Cristos saved Pilar from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Miguel Ángel Gambier got free with Ovidio Cristos in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Academia de Campeones's Rodolfo Calvet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conrado Rios in the 17th minute of play. In the 18th match minute, Academia de Campeones was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto Hulberto to maneuver through the defense. Rodolfo Calvet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Omar Rey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Miguel Ángel Gambier's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ovidio Cristos firmly grabbed it by the left post. Pawel Rzegotka was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 24 minutes into the match. A collision led to Pilar getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Pawel Rzegotka hit a great ball. 26 minutes into the match, Academia de Campeones's Fabian Bernaldo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ovidio Cristos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Academia de Campeones's Kai Havertz got a free kick in the 29th minute. Pilar's Ovidio Cristos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kermit Froggaard in the 31st minute of play. After 35 minutes Pilar's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fabian Bernaldo who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Kai Havertz almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Pilar's Ovidio Cristos did a great save. A collision led to Pilar getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Michael Scofield hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Pilar defense, Miguel Ángel Gambier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ovidio Cristos. The Pilar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ovidio Cristos should have stopped the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Pilar made a substitution. Cristian Goito replaced Matthieu Larrouy. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Miguel Ángel Gambier was the one to do the kick off. Miguel Ángel Gambier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Ovidio Cristos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kermit Froggaard in the 54th minute of play forced Pilar's goalkeeper Ovidio Cristos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ovidio Cristos came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Academia de Campeones's Kermit Froggaard. But to his dismay, Kermit Froggaard quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 62ndth minute of the game Kai Havertz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pilar's Ovidio Cristos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 64thth minute of the game Miguel Ángel Gambier who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pilar's Ovidio Cristos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pilar's Ovidio Cristos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Ángel Gambier in the 66th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kermit Froggaard in the 82nd minute of play forced Pilar's goalkeeper Ovidio Cristos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Cristian Goito could shoot a difficult shot in the 90th minute, which Rodolfo Calvet however easily saved by the left post. Pilar's Ovidio Cristos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zachariasz Orszak in the 92nd minute of play. Ovidio Cristos came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Academia de Campeones's Silverio Iraitz. But to his dismay, Silverio Iraitz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. 97 minutes into the match, Miguel Ángel Gambier had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ovidio Cristos. Pilar's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Miguel Ángel Gambier was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Academia de Campeones walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
