In the 24th minute, Åke Abelsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grosso United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Siro Santos got free with Arcadio Buendia in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 29th minute Gustavo da Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sharma Plateau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hubbart AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fikri Bera was slow to take the kick. During this time Grosso United's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Gustavo da Costa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sharma Plateau quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Wasyl Pyrtek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eleuterio Bautista during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 35th match minute, Hubbart AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eleuterio Bautista to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Siro Santos in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arcadio Buendia saved Grosso United from getting behind. In the 41st minute of the match Hubbart AFC got a corner. Grosso United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Roque Panfilo ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Grosso United's goalie and right to Kevin Swin. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Grosso United's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Hubbart AFC's Sharma Plateau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulises Gartzen in the 44th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Siro Santos was the one to do the kick off. Siro Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Arcadio Buendia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sharma Plateau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonín Orlík in the 68th minute of play. Hubbart AFC made a substitution. Dante Manex replaced Wasyl Pyrtek. Hubbart AFC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Roque Panfilo in the 73rd minute. After a rather tough play, Hubbart AFC's Siro Santos got a free kick in the 74th minute. Arcadio Buendia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Siro Santos in the 78th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Grosso United had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
