The audience thought a goal was coming when Leandro Cutberto got free with Boran Benlioğlu in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Franco Navarro struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Boran Benlioğlu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fervent Stalkers. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Franco Navarro was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leandro Cutberto in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Boran Benlioğlu saved Deportivo Merlo from getting behind. 56 minutes into the match, Deportivo Merlo's goal looked a bit too open when Franco Navarro came free, but Boran Benlioğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franco Navarro in the 59th minute of play forced Deportivo Merlo's goalkeeper Boran Benlioğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
