Baltasar Lastur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfonso Satordi in the 18th minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Roja Directa's goal looked a bit too open when Alfonso Satordi came free, but Baltasar Lastur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute, Alfonso Satordi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Baltasar Lastur was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Baltasar Lastur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roman Menendo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Tadeusz Zdanowicz fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Diablos Rojos FC's protests and gave Tadeusz Zdanowicz a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Diablos Rojos FC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Tadeusz Zdanowicz hit a great ball. Jonathan Orkatz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rogelio Aimar in the 39th minute. The Roja Directa players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Diablos Rojos FC were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rogelio Aimar was the one to do the kick off. When Rogelio Aimar came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Roja Directa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rogelio Aimar couldn't finish the play. 54 minutes into the match, Diablos Rojos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rogelio Aimar came free, but Jonathan Orkatz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Orkatz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogelio Aimar in the 65th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronnie McCrimmor in the 69th minute of play forced Roja Directa's goalkeeper Baltasar Lastur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roja Directa made a substitution. Silvano Cutberto replaced Rogelio Aimar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvano Cutberto in the 96th minute of play forced Diablos Rojos FC's goalkeeper Jonathan Orkatz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Diablos Rojos FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Diablos Rojos FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
