The audience thought a goal was coming when Faustino Lizar got free with Mark Schwarzer in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Apolo Erroman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Dahleb, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. La Vieja Guarida FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Raul Quinteros in the 34th minute. A nice corner shot did that Raul Quinteros got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mark Schwarzer quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 46th minute, Elias Ereinotz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mark Schwarzer was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rene Indartsu to strike the kick off in the second half.
