Diego Milito could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Loren Prats made a huge save. In the 17th minute Mihail Pânzaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petr Školník saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petr Školník showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihail Pânzaru in the 26th minute of the match. Mihail Pânzaru's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Petr Školník read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. After 30 minutes of play, Pegaso's Mihail Pânzaru made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Petr Školník was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 39thth minute of the game Mihail Pânzaru who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Yrigoyen.F.C's Petr Školník was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 42nd minute, Delmar Tabor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Aurelio Feliz came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Yrigoyen.F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aurelio Feliz couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mihail Pânzaru in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Petr Školník prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pegaso's Arnoldo Tibalt was substituted for Delmar Tabor. After 56 played minutes Yrigoyen.F.C got a freekick which was hit by Nestor Checa. Pegaso's Mihail Pânzaru got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Petr Školník made an important save on a dangerous shot by Efren Dobale in the 74th minute. Saverio Deunoro made in the 84th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Amador Vachon immediately put the ball in play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matías Suárez in the 86th minute of play forced Pegaso's goalkeeper Loren Prats to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Matías Suárez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yrigoyen.F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Matías Suárez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Loren Prats breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
