The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Cuchilla FC's Isaias Cresitobalo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Anibal Cambiasso made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Lisandro López sent off a good shot on target. When Ismael Thomas fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cuchilla FC's protests and gave Ismael Thomas a yellow card for diving instead. In the 9th match minute, Cuchilla FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ismael Thomas to maneuver through the defense. In the 10th minute Genaro Cambiasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Segio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anibal Cambiasso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anacleto Ibon, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Cuchilla FC were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after BAIRES's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Anacleto Ibon took the corner. Anacleto Ibon made a great header on Cuchilla FC's corner, it was just that BAIRES's Anibal Cambiasso managed to reach the ball for a save. After 18 played minutes BAIRES got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Cambiasso. Isaias Cresitobalo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Anibal Cambiasso made a huge save. In the 24thth minute of the game Isaias Cresitobalo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BAIRES's Anibal Cambiasso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 27 minutes into the game, Lisandro López cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Anibal Cambiasso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Anibal Cambiasso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaias Cresitobalo in the 33rd minute of play. In the 37th minute, BAIRES's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Lisandro López fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 38 played minutes BAIRES got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Iratze. 38 minutes into the match, BAIRES's goal looked a bit too open when Isaias Cresitobalo came free, but Anibal Cambiasso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute, Cuchilla FC's Isaias Cresitobalo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Anibal Cambiasso. Anibal Cambiasso yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. In the 44th match minute, BAIRES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Iratze to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Anacleto Ibon in the 45th minute really tested Anibal Cambiasso's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Isaias Cresitobalo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anibal Cambiasso having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Isaias Cresitobalo made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Cuchilla FC were awarded a corner. Anacleto Ibon went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Cuchilla FC's Lisandro López to fire away a dangerous shot which Anibal Cambiasso despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Anibal Cambiasso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Isaias Cresitobalo's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Anibal Cambiasso didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Cuchilla FC's Isaias Cresitobalo shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 4-0 in the ordered_time% minute. If Genaro Cambiasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute, Anacleto Ibon made a precise shot to the right of Anibal Cambiasso. BAIRES's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Isaias Cresitobalo put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Anibal Cambiasso. 89 minutes into the match, BAIRES's goal looked a bit too open when Anacleto Ibon came free, but Anibal Cambiasso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of BAIRES booed when Cuchilla FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Börge Melberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gabriel Duarte was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 91st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 92 minutes into the game, Joaquin Cambiasso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BAIRES's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cuchilla FC the free kick. A collision led to BAIRES getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Joaquin Cambiasso hit a great ball. Cuchilla FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
