David Bucciarelli started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Graciano Fraga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Angelino Thomas was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Fiambalá's Angelino Thomas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pompiliu Corcoveanu in the 6th minute of play. A collision led to AYACUCHO FUTBOL CLUB getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Froilan Columbo hit a great ball. Eusebio Dalmu kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Helmut Lips recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Stein Jamieson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pascual Bermudez was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. The supporters of Fiambalá booed when AYACUCHO FUTBOL CLUB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cayetano Fagildo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute Stein Jamieson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pascual Bermudez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30thth minute of the game David Bucciarelli who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AYACUCHO FUTBOL CLUB's Pascual Bermudez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Cristian de Queirós fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fiambalá's protests and gave Cristian de Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. Cristian de Queirós hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Pompiliu Corcoveanu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Angelino Thomas was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. In the 33rd minute of the match AYACUCHO FUTBOL CLUB got a corner. Fiambalá's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Graciano Fraga ran over to the corner to take the kick. Graciano Fraga made a great header on AYACUCHO FUTBOL CLUB's corner, it was just that Fiambalá's Angelino Thomas managed to reach the ball for a save. Helmut Lips took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 35th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Pascual Bermudez. AYACUCHO FUTBOL CLUB's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Roman Bautista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pascual Bermudez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stein Jamieson in the 41st minute of play. After some careless play in the AYACUCHO FUTBOL CLUB defense, David Bucciarelli kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pascual Bermudez. The AYACUCHO FUTBOL CLUB fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pascual Bermudez should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Modesto Peio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 50th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Angelino Thomas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Graciano Fraga, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Fiambalá's David Bucciarelli got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. AYACUCHO FUTBOL CLUB's Melchor Silban was substituted for Fulgencio Norino. In the 62nd minute of the match, David Bucciarelli got a very nice opportunity to score, but Pascual Bermudez was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 63rd minute, Victoriano Gaztea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pascual Bermudez made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Bucciarelli in the 65th minute. Pompiliu Corcoveanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelino Thomas having to interfere. Roman Bautista's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Angelino Thomas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. AYACUCHO FUTBOL CLUB were awarded a corner in the 72th minute after Fiambalá's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Graciano Fraga took the corner. 74 minutes into the match, Fiambalá's goal looked a bit too open when Aaron Stanislao came free, but Angelino Thomas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute of the match, Stein Jamieson tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pascual Bermudez saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Pascual Bermudez made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when David Bucciarelli sent off a good shot on target. 81 minutes into the match, AYACUCHO FUTBOL CLUB's goalkeeper Pascual Bermudez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David Bucciarelli. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Stein Jamieson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fiambalá's supporters rose to their feet, but Stein Jamieson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pascual Bermudez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stein Jamieson struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Pascual Bermudez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fiambalá. Fiambalá's Angelino Thomas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roman Bautista in the 90th minute of play. The supporters of Fiambalá booed when AYACUCHO FUTBOL CLUB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Stanislao didn't get a good kick on the ball. David Bucciarelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pascual Bermudez having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Fiambalá eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
