The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Carmelo Etor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camilo Artaldo, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 14th minute of the match Racing de Villada got a corner. Países Bajos's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mateo Sal ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Racing de Villada's Vicente Lastur getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 19 minutes into the match, Países Bajos's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Lastur came free, but Angelo Ugutz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 23 minutes of play, Países Bajos's Timos Kavourakis made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carmelo Etor was left in no man's land by his defense there! Timos Kavourakis took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carmelo Etor. Carmelo Etor dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Timos Kavourakis in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carmelo Etor prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 37 minutes into the match, Racing de Villada's goal looked a bit too open when Timos Kavourakis came free, but Carmelo Etor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Países Bajos's David Bastiaro got a free kick in the 44th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Exequiel Zeballos to make the kick off. Exequiel Zeballos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Angelo Ugutz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Racing de Villada's Hartfrid Hoffman was substituted for Rodolfo Eyague. If Camilo Artaldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Racing de Villada's Carmelo Etor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camilo Artaldo in the 69th minute of play. In the 71st minute Camilo Artaldo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carmelo Etor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Racing de Villada's goalkeeper Carmelo Etor, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Timos Kavourakis got free with Carmelo Etor in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 80th minute Timos Kavourakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carmelo Etor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st minute of the match Países Bajos got a corner. Racing de Villada's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dalmacio Tebaldo ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Edgard Schaars managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Timos Kavourakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Angelo Ugutz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Exequiel Zeballos in the 90th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute, Hartfrid Hoffman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Países Bajos walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
