Guaberto Playo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Independiente's Eddie Van Halen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eleuterio Maraman in the 14th minute of play. In the 16th minute, Redas Baliukonis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guaberto Playo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Bizi, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Independiente's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Massimo Ruggeri in the 20th minute. Ovidio Rik made a great header on Independiente's corner, it was just that Italia's Guaberto Playo managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 21st minute Celso Bizi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guaberto Playo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ovidio Rik hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. When Fulgencio Senen came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Independiente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fulgencio Senen couldn't finish the play. Lionel-Andrés Messia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Guaberto Playo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lionel-Andrés Messia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Italia's Guaberto Playo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fulgencio Senen in the 39th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Italia's Flavio Elodio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eddie Van Halen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Independiente's Eddie Van Halen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Independiente from getting a goal against them. 44 minutes into the match, Redas Baliukonis notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Independiente's Eddie Van Halen. Eddie Van Halen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Fulgencio Senen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Guaberto Playo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 袁风奕, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th minute, Lionel-Andrés Messia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fulgencio Senen had several of the Italia's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 64 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Guaberto Playo as he didn't even see the shot coming. Fulgencio Senens short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Guaberto Playo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Italia's Lorenzo Loi was substituted for Eleuterio Maraman. A collision led to Independiente getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Gabirel Christbo hit a great ball. Italia's Guaberto Playo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Italia from getting a goal against them. Eddie Van Halen came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Italia's Kerim Kılıc. But to his dismay, Kerim Kılıc quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Independiente made a substitution. Arif Egemen Ahsen replaced Celso Bizi. A sloppy throw-in by Massimo Ruggeri in the 77th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Italia's Redas Baliukonis. 78 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Kerim Kılıc came free, but Eddie Van Halen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eddie Van Halen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kerim Kılıc, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Arif Egemen Ahsen struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Guaberto Playo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente. 97 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Kerim Kılıc came free, but Eddie Van Halen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Italia were victorious despite being under pressure from Independiente for much of the match.
