C.A.Esparta's Mauricio Tabor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fulgencio Bilintx in the 27th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Verner Sundström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Podridos ll's supporters rose to their feet, but Verner Sundström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mauricio Tabor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mauricio Tabor came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Los Podridos ll's Fulgencio Bilintx. But to his dismay, Fulgencio Bilintx quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. If Adolfo Silbestre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adolfo Silbestre who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 42ndth minute tested the skills of Omar Falleto when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 44 minutes into the game, Los Podridos ll's Fulgencio Bilintx nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mauricio Tabor made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-8. Disappointed in the 0-8 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Verner Sundström to strike the kick off in the second half.
