The audience thought a goal was coming when Jose Katia got free with Alirio Ducoing in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Anibal Lluques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 23rd minute Anibal Lluques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Medina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Q. T. I.'s Alirio Ducoing got control of the ball when Silverio Medardo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alirio Ducoing showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Nuxila, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anibal Lluques in the 32nd minute of play forced TALLERES's goalkeeper Iker Medina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. TALLERES's Iker Medina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anibal Lluques in the 43rd minute of play. In the 47th minute Anibal Lluques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Medina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Raymundo to make the kick off.
