When the match clock showed 66 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Dimitris Maropoulos sped through HFA FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gordon Banks. Marc Almstedt scored 5-0 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gordon Banks, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marc Almstedt in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gordon Banks saved HFA FC from getting behind. If Marc Almstedt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gordon Banks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marc Almstedt, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute.
