Ahmet Kemal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Juan Chayo fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SAN JOSE FUTBOL CLUB's protests and gave Juan Chayo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Reconquistense FC booed when SAN JOSE FUTBOL CLUB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Chayo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46thth minute of the game Armindo Amado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SAN JOSE FUTBOL CLUB's Julián Atarrabi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Baldomiro Lawrence kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Julián Atarrabi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Ahlqvist in the 80th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jan Ahlqvist got free with Julián Atarrabi in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julián Atarrabi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jan Ahlqvist's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. 86 minutes into the match, Lisandro Montes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Piara Tittarelli. Reconquistense FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lisandro Montes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. In the 89th match minute, SAN JOSE FUTBOL CLUB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baldomiro Lawrence to maneuver through the defense. Julián Atarrabi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jan Ahlqvist went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-4 was the resulting score. The Reconquistense FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Reconquistense FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
