After taking down the ball on Independiente's corner Freddy Xacintu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Kenneth Libesoons quite easily take care of the ball. Kenneth Libesoons was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Martin Suy showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 42 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
