Fernando Belo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kamiel Stessel's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. In the 5thth minute of the game Kamiel Stessel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cantera Leales Sin Pagar's Fernando Belo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fernando Belo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kandemir Ülkü in the 11th minute of play. Gavino Hodei recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fernando Belo came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Fecha Libre's Martins Palermo. But to his dismay, Martins Palermo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Emiliano Martínez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romulo Torres in the 20th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Martins Palermo made a precise shot to the right of Fernando Belo. Cantera Leales Sin Pagar's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 26th minute, Eustacio Hotz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fecha Libre's goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 33 minutes into the game, Martins Palermo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Fernando Belo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 36th minute of the match, Romulo Torres tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Emiliano Martínez saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 37 played minutes Cantera Leales Sin Pagar got a freekick which was hit by Flavio Polentzi. In the 38th minute, Martins Palermo made a precise shot to the right of Fernando Belo. Cantera Leales Sin Pagar's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. If Martins Palermo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 44th minute Martins Palermo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Belo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Fecha Libre were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Cantera Leales Sin Pagar's Lino Orlo was substituted for Emilio Quinten. Fernando Belo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martins Palermo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Martins Palermo might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernando Belo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Martins Palermo ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 55th minute Martins Palermo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Belo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Fecha Libre booed when Cantera Leales Sin Pagar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horacio Quinteros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fecha Libre made a substitution. Igli Tare replaced Martins Palermo. In the 80th minute, Horacio Quinteros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fecha Libre's Emiliano Martínez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horacio Quinteros in the 83rd minute of play. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Fecha Libre's goalie and right to Edelmiro Eli. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Fecha Libre's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Fernando Belo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Igli Tare in the 92nd minute. Fecha Libre's Kandemir Ülkü quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Erasmo Guillelme, made in the 95th minute of the game. Fecha Libre's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
