San Lorenzo de Sarandi's Salvador Rosario quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 24 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo de Sarandi's goalkeeper Lester Serre had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Turgay Hafi. Lester Serre was a little too slow when Turgay Hafi got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 2-1. In the 37th minute, a hard, long distance shot from Baltasar Bartoleme hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. If Clodoveo Matro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the game, Ryszard Luty threw the ball into play from the sideline. Bancruz F.C's Carlos Arixo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. A collision led to San Lorenzo de Sarandi getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Salvador Rosario hit a great ball. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leonides Rosio to make the kick off.
