Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Higinio Aguilera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Los Hijos de Doña Beija from getting a goal against them. In the 45th match minute, Deportivo Medievales was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Gar to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. The corner led Deportivo Medievales's Tomas Sazon to fire away a dangerous shot which Higinio Aguilera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fábio Rocha in the 64th minute of play forced Deportivo Medievales's goalkeeper Robert Abbondanzieri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Los Hijos de Doña Beija made a substitution. Indiana Jones replaced Luís Fábio Rocha. Deportivo Medievales's Eleuterio Ovando was substituted for Gustavo Gar. Higinio Aguilera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augustinas Gavorskis, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. 93 minutes into the match, Deportivo Medievales's goal looked a bit too open when Indiana Jones came free, but Robert Abbondanzieri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Feliciano Haritzeder got a free kick in the 96th minute. Deportivo Medievales's Damián Åkerman was substituted for Augustinas Gavorskis. Feliciano Haritzeder kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match. The Los Hijos de Doña Beija supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Los Hijos de Doña Beija would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
