Spectators: 7000 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Daryl Baker kicked off to start the match. With a little luck, Walter's Mattias Mayo got control of the ball when Donald Mowlem tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Walter's zone, Lee Greaves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mattias Mayo came out of the goal and Lee Greaves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 15th minute, Jamie Paine reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mattias Mayo. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 25th minute Jamie Paine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattias Mayo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 26 played minutes Walter got a freekick which was hit by Ash Wooding. Ash Wooding received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Bill Cryer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Abraham Hawke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jamie Paine to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Donald Mowlem hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 56 minutes, Ash Wooding mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Walter and the Wimbledon players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Wimbledon booed when Walter was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ash Wooding didn't get a good kick on the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Walter's goal looked a bit too open when Jamie Paine came free, but Mattias Mayo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daryl Baker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eddie Branson kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. When Daryl Baker came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Walter fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daryl Baker couldn't finish the play. Many of Walter's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Walter may have spent more time on the ball, but Wimbledon were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
