The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the match, Grantham's goal looked a bit too open when Ben Purkiss came free, but Damion Keane reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Ben Purkiss dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Damion Keane, 1-0. Damion Keane made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frankie Myers in the 14th minute. If Louie Sutton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the match, Grantham's goalkeeper Damion Keane had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frankie Myers. Damion Keane took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ben Purkiss, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Damion Keane made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ben Purkiss in the 35th minute. Grantham's defense didn't have a chance, in the 36th minute, when Ben Purkiss scored to the left of an out of position Damion Keane, making the score, 2-0. After having played for 41 minutes, Frankie Myers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yo-Yo Aria FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frankie Myers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Reg Bolton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yo-Yo Aria FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Reg Bolton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Damion Keane breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Grantham's Damion Keane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ben Purkiss in the 55th minute of play. Damion Keane showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abraham Preston in the 56th minute of the match. Warren Moon charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Warren Moon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Warren Moon hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. After 58 played minutes Yo-Yo Aria FC got a freekick which was hit by Nicholas Langsford. Frankie Myers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Damion Keane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ben Purkiss in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Damion Keane prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Ben Purkiss put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Damion Keane. Damion Keane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ben Purkiss in the 72nd minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, Grantham's goal looked a bit too open when Abraham Preston came free, but Damion Keane reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abraham Preston in the 77th minute of play forced Grantham's goalkeeper Damion Keane to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute Frankie Myers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damion Keane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes into the game, Ben Purkiss cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Damion Keane was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ben Purkiss in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Damion Keane saved Grantham from getting behind. Frankie Myers succeeded in the game's 92nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 5-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Yo-Yo Aria FC fully deserved thier win.
