The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4th play minutes Calum Dingle shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Doug Sutton and just under the crossbar into goal. Eddie Bryant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Rodrigo Moco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Midfielders's goalkeeper Rodrigo Moco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sly Groves hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. If Eddie Bryant had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eddie Bryant fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrigo Moco having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Calum Dingle's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Doug Sutton was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Defense's zone, Rex Chivers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Doug Sutton came out of the goal and Rex Chivers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A hard shot 38 in the game by Joel Bright from a close distance when the talented Rodrigo Moco managed to make a qualified save. Midfielders's players were relieved. Eddie Bryant might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rodrigo Moco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eddie Bryant ran back to his position shaking his head. Archie Knight struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Rodrigo Moco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Defense. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eddie Bryant made a kick off. If Damion Barkley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eddie Bryant in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodrigo Moco saved Midfielders from getting behind. Doug Sutton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rick Marsden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodrigo Moco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eddie Bryant's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Midfielders's goalkeeper Rodrigo Moco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rodrigo Moco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eddie Bryant in the 67th minute of play. Defense's defense didn't have a chance, in the 68th minute, when Rick Marsden scored to the left of an out of position Doug Sutton, making the score, 1-2. In the 72nd minute, Eddie Bryant made a precise shot to the right of Rodrigo Moco. Midfielders's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. In the 75th match minute, Midfielders was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rick Marsden to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Defense booed when Midfielders was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Calum Dingle didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th minute, Ricky Bullock hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Damion Barkley in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rodrigo Moco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joel Bright fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrigo Moco having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Midfielders's Rick Marsden got a free kick in the 83rd minute. The supporters of Defense booed when Midfielders was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricky Bullock didn't get a good kick on the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Defense's goalkeeper Doug Sutton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Calum Dingle. Eddie Bryant scored 3-2 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rodrigo Moco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Defense had played much better football throughout.
