An unexpectedly hard shot by Danival Ingason in the 13th minute of play forced Fimu Fiskarnir's goalkeeper Ástvar Ellertsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgar Hálfdánsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samúel Helgason in the 16th minute of play. When Arnljótur Friðþjófsson came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Fimu Fiskarnir fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnljótur Friðþjófsson couldn't finish the play. 20 minutes into the game, Arnljótur Friðþjófsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fimu Fiskarnir's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Riverlandia the free kick. Arnljótur Friðþjófsson kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Samúel Helgason in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edgar Hálfdánsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edgar Hálfdánsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samúel Helgason, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnljótur Friðþjófsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Hálfdánsson having to interfere. The supporters of Fimu Fiskarnir booed when FC Riverlandia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hlíðar Elísson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kristfinnur Steingrímsson kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. 40 minutes into the game, Arnljótur Friðþjófsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Edgar Hálfdánsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The FC Riverlandia players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Fimu Fiskarnir were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arnljótur Friðþjófsson made a kick off. After 52 played minutes Fimu Fiskarnir got a freekick which was hit by Steinröður Högnason. Snæhólm Erlingsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Arnljótur Friðþjófsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Þyrnir Ásgeirsson during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Arnljótur Friðþjófsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edgar Hálfdánsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arnljótur Friðþjófsson ran back to his position shaking his head. 65 minutes into the match, FC Riverlandia's goalkeeper Edgar Hálfdánsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sindri Geislason. Arnljótur Friðþjófsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edgar Hálfdánsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. Ástvar Ellertsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Snæhólm Erlingsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnljótur Friðþjófsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th minute of the match Oliver Halldórsson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ástvar Ellertsson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sindri Geislason recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Danival Ingason took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ástvar Ellertsson. Ástvar Ellertsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. 94 minutes into the game, Danival Ingason cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Ástvar Ellertsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
