The audience thought a goal was coming when Steinmar Reynisson got free with Rósinkar Gissurarson in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rósinkar Gissurarson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ástbjörn Ottósson in the 9th minute of play. A collision led to Kári Mosfellsbæ getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Gottskálk Ingmarsson hit a great ball. Guðgeir Davíðsson hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After 14 played minutes Kári Mosfellsbæ got a freekick which was hit by Gottskálk Ingmarsson. Steinmar Reynisson struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Rósinkar Gissurarson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ensku Hnífarnir. Ensku Hnífarnir's Friðleifur Sæmundsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaki Rúnarsson in the 19th minute of play. Jaki Rúnarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 28 minutes into the match, Kári Mosfellsbæ's goalkeeper Rósinkar Gissurarson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Steinmar Reynisson. 37 minutes into the game, Ensku Hnífarnir's Steinmar Reynisson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rósinkar Gissurarson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 41 minutes into the match, Kári Mosfellsbæ's goalkeeper Rósinkar Gissurarson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Steinmar Reynisson. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Steinmar Reynisson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ensku Hnífarnir's supporters rose to their feet, but Steinmar Reynisson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rósinkar Gissurarson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Ástbjörn Ottósson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rósinkar Gissurarson. That made the score 2-0 in the 48 minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guðgeir Davíðsson was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th match minute, Ensku Hnífarnir was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Áskell Hallsson to maneuver through the defense. Rósinkar Gissurarson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ástbjörn Ottósson in the 58th minute of the match. When Ensku Hnífarnir's Ástbjörn Ottósson in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 74thth minute of the game Steinmar Reynisson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kári Mosfellsbæ's Rósinkar Gissurarson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 76th minute Steinmar Reynisson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rósinkar Gissurarson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, Kári Mosfellsbæ's goal looked a bit too open when Ástbjörn Ottósson came free, but Rósinkar Gissurarson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rósinkar Gissurarson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steinmar Reynisson in the 80th minute of play. 82 minutes into the game, Kristbjörn Gretarsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ensku Hnífarnir's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kári Mosfellsbæ the free kick. 86 minutes into the match, Kári Mosfellsbæ's goal looked a bit too open when Ástbjörn Ottósson came free, but Rósinkar Gissurarson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Steinmar Reynisson in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rósinkar Gissurarson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rósinkar Gissurarson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ástbjörn Ottósson in the 92nd minute of play. 95 minutes into the game, Ensku Hnífarnir's Steinmar Reynisson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rósinkar Gissurarson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. In the 99th match minute, Kári Mosfellsbæ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Þorlákur Gestsson to maneuver through the defense. There was no doubt that Ensku Hnífarnir were the better team. Ensku Hnífarnir's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
