Salómon Óskarsson hit a great ball. In the 13th match minute, Síld Grímsey was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Víkingur Greipsson to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bjartmann Sveinþórsson in the 15th minute of play forced Splæs Örasæfi's goalkeeper Marinó Aðalmundsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Þjóðbjörn Hálfdánsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gestur Aronsson having to make a save. 20 minutes into the match, Splæs Örasæfi's goal looked a bit too open when Bjartmann Sveinþórsson came free, but Marinó Aðalmundsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Síld Grímsey booed when Splæs Örasæfi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Þorfinnur Arnbergsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gestur Aronsson was a little too slow when Þjóðbjörn Hálfdánsson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 1-0. When Pétur Hilmarsson came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Splæs Örasæfi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pétur Hilmarsson couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Bjartmann Sveinþórsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Síld Grímsey's supporters rose to their feet, but Bjartmann Sveinþórsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marinó Aðalmundsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gestur Aronsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pétur Hilmarsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Bjartmann Sveinþórsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

In the 52nd minute Bjartmann Sveinþórsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marinó Aðalmundsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marinó Aðalmundsson made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Bjartmann Sveinþórsson sent off a good shot on target. Kolfinnur Galdursson hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. 65 minutes into the game, Kolfinnur Galdursson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Síld Grímsey's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Splæs Örasæfi the free kick. Kolfinnur Galdursson kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. After 68 minutes of play, Síld Grímsey's Júrek Logason made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marinó Aðalmundsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Pétur Hilmarsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Gestur Aronsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gestur Aronsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Finnvarður Margeirsson in the 76th minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Þjóðbjörn Hálfdánsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bjartmann Sveinþórsson got free with Marinó Aðalmundsson in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 1-2 became the score in the 82nd minute when Júrek Logason elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When Síld Grímsey's Júrek Logason in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Splæs Örasæfi's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júrek Logason in the 87th minute of play forced Splæs Örasæfi's goalkeeper Marinó Aðalmundsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
