Krister Mánason stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nils Vífilsson's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. In the 5th match minute, Gala Akranesi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willum Halsson to maneuver through the defense. 7 minutes into the match, Tumas Tómasson dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ráðvarður Garðarsson, 1-0. Álfgrímur Ragnarsson hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Ráðvarður Garðarsson was out of position in the 20 minute of play, and Elbert Hinriksson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Elbert Hinriksson really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. 24 minutes into the match, Willum Halsson dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ráðvarður Garðarsson, 3-0. Skarp Grenivík's Ráðvarður Garðarsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elbert Hinriksson in the 30th minute of play. 32 minutes into the game, Tumas Tómasson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ráðvarður Garðarsson. Tumas Tómasson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. 35 minutes into the match, Skarp Grenivík's Álfgrímur Ragnarsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Krister Mánason narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Krister Mánason stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nils Vífilsson's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nils Vífilsson in the 44th minute of play forced Gala Akranesi's goalkeeper Krister Mánason to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Krister Mánason made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nils Vífilsson in the 45th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Elbert Hinriksson was the one to do the kick off. Úlrik Gunnarsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Krister Mánason having to make a save. After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gala Akranesi! The goalkeeper, Krister Mánason, was totally fooled by Skarp Grenivík's Nils Vífilsson, who 53 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The supporters of Skarp Grenivík booed when Gala Akranesi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Svanmundur Hjaltason didn't get a good kick on the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Gala Akranesi's goalkeeper Krister Mánason had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alex Fjölmundsson. After 62 minutes of play, Gala Akranesi's Tumas Tómasson made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ráðvarður Garðarsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ástvar Skaptason received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Ráðvarður Garðarsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 70 minutes, Alex Fjölmundsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Skarp Grenivík's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alex Fjölmundsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ástvar Skaptason in the 71st minute of play forced Skarp Grenivík's goalkeeper Ráðvarður Garðarsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tumas Tómasson in the 72nd minute of play forced Skarp Grenivík's goalkeeper Ráðvarður Garðarsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gala Akranesi's Krister Mánason played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nils Vífilsson in the 76th minute of play. Konráð Sigþórsson lost his temper 80 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 80 played minutes Skarp Grenivík got a freekick which was hit by Konráð Sigþórsson. In the 82nd minute of the match Kveldúlfur Árbjartsson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ráðvarður Garðarsson skillfully saved the ball. Elbert Hinriksson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ráðvarður Garðarsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. Ráðvarður Garðarsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tumas Tómasson , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Gala Akranesi booed when Skarp Grenivík was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Húnbogi Arnbergsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Húnbogi Arnbergsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Krister Mánason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Álfgrímur Ragnarsson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 94thth minute tested the skills of Krister Mánason when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ráðvarður Garðarsson came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Gala Akranesi's Ástvar Skaptason. But to his dismay, Ástvar Skaptason quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Skarp Grenivík players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Gala Akranesi.
