Kveldúlfur Árbjartsson kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Ráðvarður Garðarsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elbert Hinriksson, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Ráðvarður Garðarsson came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Gala Akranesi's Elbert Hinriksson. But to his dismay, Elbert Hinriksson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 13 minutes, Nils Vífilsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Skarp Grenivík and the Gala Akranesi players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Gala Akranesi booed when Skarp Grenivík was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nils Vífilsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 17 minutes, Annel Hreinsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Skarp Grenivík and the Gala Akranesi players grew even worse after the yellow card. Annel Hreinsson hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute, Ástvar Skaptason made a precise shot to the right of Ráðvarður Garðarsson. Skarp Grenivík's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Krister Mánason was out of position in the 28 minute of play, and Nils Vífilsson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nils Vífilsson really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Gala Akranesi's Krister Mánason proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Gala Akranesi from getting a goal against them. Krister Mánason stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nils Vífilsson's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. In the 35thth minute of the game Ástvar Skaptason who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Skarp Grenivík's Ráðvarður Garðarsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Húnbogi Arnbergsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute, Elbert Hinriksson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ráðvarður Garðarsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. After 43 played minutes Skarp Grenivík got a freekick which was hit by Alex Fjölmundsson. Ráðvarður Garðarsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ástvar Skaptason in the 45th minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Elbert Hinriksson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ráðvarður Garðarsson. Skarp Grenivík's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elbert Hinriksson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. The Skarp Grenivík players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Gala Akranesi were winning 1-4.

The wind increased when Nils Vífilsson made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Skarp Grenivík's goal looked a bit too open when Willum Halsson came free, but Ráðvarður Garðarsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ástvar Skaptason could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Ráðvarður Garðarsson made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nils Vífilsson in the 59th minute of play forced Gala Akranesi's goalkeeper Krister Mánason to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Álfgrímur Ragnarsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Krister Mánason was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Krister Mánason showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Álfgrímur Ragnarsson in the 61st minute of the match. Ástvar Skaptason could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Ráðvarður Garðarsson made a huge save. Ráðvarður Garðarsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elbert Hinriksson in the 66th minute of play. In the 70th minute Elbert Hinriksson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ráðvarður Garðarsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd minute Álfgrímur Ragnarsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Krister Mánason saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elbert Hinriksson had several of the Skarp Grenivík's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 75 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-5 score and a disappointed Ráðvarður Garðarsson as he didn't even see the shot coming. With a little luck, Skarp Grenivík's Ráðvarður Garðarsson got control of the ball when Ástvar Skaptason tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Willum Halsson in the 84th minute of play forced Skarp Grenivík's goalkeeper Ráðvarður Garðarsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ráðvarður Garðarsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tumas Tómasson in the 85th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Álfgrímur Ragnarsson in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Krister Mánason prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nils Vífilsson in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Krister Mánason saved Gala Akranesi from getting behind. In the 94th minute, Álfgrímur Ragnarsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Álfgrímur Ragnarsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Gala Akranesi players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
