After 6 minutes of play, Grundaval's Steinvarður Þorvaldsson made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ráðvarður Garðarsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ráðvarður Garðarsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Garðar Halldórsson in the 11th minute of the match. With a little luck, Skarp Grenivík's Ráðvarður Garðarsson got control of the ball when Steinvarður Þorvaldsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. With his leg Ráðvarður Garðarsson managed to avoid a goal in the 18thth minute, when Grundaval's Steinvarður Þorvaldsson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Steinvarður Þorvaldsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Ráðvarður Garðarsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Grundaval's Njáll Skaptason played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nils Vífilsson in the 37th minute of play. Alex Fjölmundsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 41st minute, Álfgrímur Ragnarsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Njáll Skaptason was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Garðar Halldórsson was the one to do the kick off. Skarp Grenivík's Ráðvarður Garðarsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Steinvarður Þorvaldsson in the 51st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steinvarður Þorvaldsson in the 54th minute of play forced Skarp Grenivík's goalkeeper Ráðvarður Garðarsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ráðvarður Garðarsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eldur Ósvaldsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 56th minute, Húnbogi Arnbergsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eldur Ósvaldsson during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 62nd match minute, Grundaval was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eldur Ósvaldsson to maneuver through the defense. Garðar Halldórsson took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ráðvarður Garðarsson. Ráðvarður Garðarsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. 80 minutes into the match, Hildibergur Georgsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ráðvarður Garðarsson. Skarp Grenivík's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hildibergur Georgsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Njáll Skaptason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nils Vífilsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Grundaval's Hildibergur Georgsson got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ráðvarður Garðarsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steinvarður Þorvaldsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute.
