Valter Halsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Skefill Ægisson in the 16th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Vífill Vilmarsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hamra Vogum's supporters rose to their feet, but Vífill Vilmarsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valter Halsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Vífill Vilmarsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hamra Vogum's supporters rose to their feet, but Vífill Vilmarsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The attack was good, but when Skefill Ægisson in the 29th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Arnviður Kolsson charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arnviður Kolsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Arnviður Kolsson kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Markaðsnetið's Mars Þorbjörnsson broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Vífill Vilmarsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Valter Halsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vífill Vilmarsson ran back to his position shaking his head. After 40 played minutes Hamra Vogum got a freekick which was hit by Hallmundur Oddvarsson. After 41 played minutes, Markaðsnetið's Mars Þorbjörnsson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rolf Ásvaldsson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Markaðsnetið reached it. In the 46th minute Skefill Ægisson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valter Halsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Skefill Ægisson to make the kick off. Önundur Jóhannsson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 52nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rolf Ásvaldsson. Hamra Vogum's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Auðgeir Arnleifsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolf Ásvaldsson having to interfere. Valter Halsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Skefill Ægisson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Auðgeir Arnleifsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Rolf Ásvaldsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Konstantínus Bjarmason hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute Skefill Ægisson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valter Halsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valter Halsson made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Vífill Vilmarsson sent off a good shot on target.
