Flex Garði's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Domus Bæ the free kick. In the 4th minute, Haddur Guðmarsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geisli Magnþórsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ölvir Ernirsson in the 4th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Flex Garði's Reinar Borgþórsson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Erling Erlingsson. That made the score 1-0 after 10 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Loftur Arndórsson in the 12th minute of play forced Domus Bæ's goalkeeper Erling Erlingsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sindri Guðjónsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Geisli Magnþórsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sindri Guðjónsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sindri Guðjónsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Geisli Magnþórsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sindri Guðjónsson ran back to his position shaking his head. Erling Erlingsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reinar Borgþórsson in the 27th minute of play. Domus Bæ's Erling Erlingsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Domus Bæ from getting a goal against them. 31 minutes into the match, Domus Bæ's goal looked a bit too open when Loftur Arndórsson came free, but Erling Erlingsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute, Flex Garði's Loftur Arndórsson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Erling Erlingsson. Erling Erlingsson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reinar Borgþórsson in the 37th minute of play forced Domus Bæ's goalkeeper Erling Erlingsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Erling Erlingsson made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Franz Þórðarson sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Ölvir Ernirsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Geisli Magnþórsson was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sindri Guðjónsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Reinar Borgþórsson took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Erling Erlingsson. Erling Erlingsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Domus Bæ's Erling Erlingsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinar Borgþórsson in the 55th minute of play. 5-0 became the score in the 57th minute when Vébjörn Oddbergsson elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Sveinjón Hróason might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Geisli Magnþórsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sveinjón Hróason ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 64th play minute Sindri Guðjónsson came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Geisli Magnþórsson. 5-1. Geisli Magnþórsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ölvir Ernirsson in the 69th minute. In the 73rd minute, Sæmann Gunnsteinsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Geisli Magnþórsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-2. In the 79th minute, Ölvir Ernirsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Erling Erlingsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Franz Þórðarson in the 82nd minute of the match. Sveinjón Hróason received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Geisli Magnþórsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sindri Guðjónsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Domus Bæ's Erling Erlingsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinar Borgþórsson in the 89th minute of play. Ölvir Ernirsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Domus Bæ's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Flex Garði had won, even though Domus Bæ had held more of the ball.
