Spectators: 6779 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1779, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Sæbergur Þórðarson took the kick off in the first half of the match. A hard shot 9 in the game by Falur Unnarsson from a close distance when the talented Engilbjartur Fannarsson managed to make a qualified save. Valur Hrísey's players were relieved. After a defensive mix-up in Valur Hrísey's zone, Falur Unnarsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Engilbjartur Fannarsson came out of the goal and Falur Unnarsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Gígant Grímsey fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 13th minute. Penalty! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stefnir Darrason in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Snæþór Reimarsson saved Gígant Grímsey from getting behind. Snæþór Reimarsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stefnir Darrason in the 19th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Valur Hrísey's Árbjartur Dagþórsson got a free kick in the 22nd minute. The supporters of Gígant Grímsey booed when Valur Hrísey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kristfinnur Kolbeinsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sæbergur Þórðarson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Engilbjartur Fannarsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. If Alfred Ófeigsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rdth minute of the game Stefnir Darrason who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gígant Grímsey's Snæþór Reimarsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 37th minute of the match, Sæbergur Þórðarson tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Engilbjartur Fannarsson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Engilbjartur Fannarsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sæbergur Þórðarson in the 43rd minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stefnir Darrason made a kick off. After 52 minutes, Steinmar Ágústsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gígant Grímsey and the Valur Hrísey players grew even worse after the yellow card. Steinmar Ágústsson kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Stefnir Darrason received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Snæþór Reimarsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 62 minutes, Sæbergur Þórðarson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gígant Grímsey's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sæbergur Þórðarson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 65th minute Falur Unnarsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Engilbjartur Fannarsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Gígant Grímsey's goal looked a bit too open when Stefnir Darrason came free, but Snæþór Reimarsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, Gígant Grímsey's goalkeeper Snæþór Reimarsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hamar Olgeirsson. Sæbergur Þórðarson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 76 minutes into the game, Sigurgeir Elbertsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gígant Grímsey's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Valur Hrísey the free kick. In the 80th minute, Þorgils Úlfarsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 83 played minutes Valur Hrísey got a freekick which was hit by Árbjartur Dagþórsson. When Gunnberg Patreksson came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Valur Hrísey fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gunnberg Patreksson couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Alfred Ófeigsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Valur Hrísey's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfred Ófeigsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Snæþór Reimarsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 93rd match minute, Gígant Grímsey was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antoníus Lúðvíksson to maneuver through the defense. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
