After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Falur Lárusson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Epal Bæ's supporters rose to their feet, but Falur Lárusson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yngvar Runólfsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Falur Lárusson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yngvar Runólfsson having to interfere. Arngrímur Jónsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ingvaldur Finnlaugsson fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Epal Bæ's protests and gave Ingvaldur Finnlaugsson a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Newcastle United booed when Epal Bæ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingvaldur Finnlaugsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Húnn Ásmundarson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the match, Epal Bæ's Húnn Ásmundarson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yngvar Runólfsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Falur Lárusson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
