If Hildiglúmur Bergþórsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Ísland booed when Sóló Mosfellsbæ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hrannar Oddgeirsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Arngrímur Falgeirsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sandri Svanbergsson was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. In the 32nd minute, Friðbergur Agnarsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sandri Svanbergsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 35 minutes into the match, Ísland's goal looked a bit too open when Arngrímur Falgeirsson came free, but Sandri Svanbergsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Friðbergur Agnarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Sandri Svanbergsson managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Sóló Mosfellsbæ's Friðbergur Agnarsson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Hrannar Oddgeirsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sandri Svanbergsson having to make a save. In the 42nd minute of the match, Hrannar Oddgeirsson tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sandri Svanbergsson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 55thth minute of the game Friðbergur Agnarsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ísland's Sandri Svanbergsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Ísland's Sigurlás Ásbergsson got a free kick in the 69th minute. Sóló Mosfellsbæ's Dagur Stígsson got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arngrímur Falgeirsson in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sandri Svanbergsson saved Ísland from getting behind. Sandri Svanbergsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Friðbergur Agnarsson in the 76th minute of the match. In the 77th minute Friðbergur Agnarsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandri Svanbergsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hrannar Oddgeirsson kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Hildiglúmur Bergþórsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Örn Kjaransson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Þráinn Bergsson fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sóló Mosfellsbæ's protests and gave Þráinn Bergsson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 85th minute, Þráinn Bergsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Örn Kjaransson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hildiglúmur Bergþórsson in the 86th minute. Bæron Arndórsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sandri Svanbergsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arngrímur Falgeirsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sóló Mosfellsbæ had won after a very even match.
