Svanbergur Gestsson made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Pálmi Guðfinnsson sent off a good shot on target. In the 45th minute, Hildar Búason got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Húgó Greipsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Jötunn Garðabæ were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Húgó Greipsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Þórður Eymundsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The long shot by Sigfús Vilmarsson in the 66th minute really tested Melkólmur Oddgeirsson's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Pálmi Guðfinnsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Demus Friðriksson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 81stth minute tested the skills of Melkólmur Oddgeirsson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Demus Friðriksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ögri Ásgrímsson hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Demus Friðriksson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Melkólmur Oddgeirsson made a huge save. Melkólmur Oddgeirsson made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Demus Friðriksson sent off a good shot on target. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
