The supporters of máni booed when Mímir Bæ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hleiðar Þorgerisson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 6th match minute, máni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilbert Róbertsson to maneuver through the defense. In the 9th minute, Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson made a precise shot to the right of Geirþjófur Bjarmarsson. máni's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Mímir Bæ's Gils Þorbergsson got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Styrbjörn Valgeirsson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Kristfinnur Snæsson. That made the score 1-1 in the 17 minute of play. Kristfinnur Snæsson was out of position in the 25 minute of play, and Sigsteinn Valbergsson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Sigsteinn Valbergsson really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. If Gilbert Róbertsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. máni's Geirþjófur Bjarmarsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson in the 30th minute of play. Kristfinnur Snæsson came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by máni's Gilbert Róbertsson. But to his dismay, Gilbert Róbertsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. In the 40th minute Arnleifur Vífilsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geirþjófur Bjarmarsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geirþjófur Bjarmarsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnleifur Vífilsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After 46 played minutes Mímir Bæ got a freekick which was hit by Birgir Ásbergsson. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson made the kick off in the second half. Gilbert Róbertsson took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kristfinnur Snæsson. Kristfinnur Snæsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. A collision led to máni getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Engilbert Finnbogason hit a great ball. Hleiðar Þorgerisson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 54th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Geirþjófur Bjarmarsson. máni's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 57 minutes into the match, máni's goalkeeper Geirþjófur Bjarmarsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson. Geirþjófur Bjarmarsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson in the 61st minute of play forced máni's goalkeeper Geirþjófur Bjarmarsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kristfinnur Snæsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rögnvaldur Valdsson in the 66th minute of play. Steinmar Boðason was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 70 minutes into the match. In the 71st match minute, Mímir Bæ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Steinmar Boðason to maneuver through the defense. The audience held their breath when Styrbjörn Valgeirsson in the 72nd minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Kristfinnur Snæsson's left hand side. After a rather tough play, Mímir Bæ's Heilmóður Traustason got a free kick in the 73rd minute. If Sigsteinn Valbergsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Mímir Bæ's zone, Rögnvaldur Valdsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kristfinnur Snæsson came out of the goal and Rögnvaldur Valdsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Björgólfur Hallbjörnssons short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got Geirþjófur Bjarmarsson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Kristfinnur Snæsson came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by máni's Sigsteinn Valbergsson. But to his dismay, Sigsteinn Valbergsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. If Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 91 in the game by Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson from a close distance when the talented Geirþjófur Bjarmarsson managed to make a qualified save. máni's players were relieved. Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson succeeded in the game's 93rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 5-2. In the 97th minute Gilbert Róbertsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kristfinnur Snæsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. máni were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Mímir Bæ for a fine match.
