Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Sváfnir Björnsson kicked off to start the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Baldur Pálmason during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Reginn Ormarsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Starri Þrándsson's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. Sýklarnir's Játvarður Friðþjófsson shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 9th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Flemming Edgarsson but with some difficulty. In the 13th minute Starri Þrándsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reginn Ormarsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sváfnir Björnsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Sváfnir Björnsson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Flemming Edgarsson. That made the score 1-0 in the 18 minute of play. In the 25thth minute of the game Berghreinn Knútsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sýklarnir's Reginn Ormarsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Vetrarsól fans' excitement grew in the 28th match minute when Vetrarsól's Berghreinn Knútsson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 31 minutes of play, Vetrarsól's Starri Þrándsson made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reginn Ormarsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Reginn Ormarsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Berghreinn Knútsson in the 36th minute of play. Adrían Hróason fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flemming Edgarsson having to interfere. Reginn Ormarsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Starri Þrándsson in the 45th minute of the match. The Sýklarnir players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Vetrarsól were winning 1-2.

The wind increased when Berghreinn Knútsson made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Kristbergur Eyvindarson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vetrarsól's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sýklarnir the free kick. The supporters of Sýklarnir booed when Vetrarsól was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kristbergur Eyvindarson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sváfnir Björnsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Flemming Edgarsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Flemming Edgarsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrían Hróason, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Starri Þrándsson in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Reginn Ormarsson saved Sýklarnir from getting behind. Baldur Pálmason kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sýklarnir's zone, Starri Þrándsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reginn Ormarsson came out of the goal and Starri Þrándsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Berghreinn Knútsson in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reginn Ormarsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Berghreinn Knútsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reginn Ormarsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. In the 85th minute, Baldur Pálmason left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sýklarnir fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. The audience was convinced that Sváfnir Björnsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Flemming Edgarsson was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
