Vilbrandur Árbjartsson hit a great ball. The long shot by Nóni Sigfastsson in the 27th minute really tested Vilmundur Hermansson's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After 29 played minutes Grænu Tófurnar got a freekick which was hit by Guðráður Þrándsson. Heiðlindur Ingmarsson, 30 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Eggert Leifsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eggert Leifsson in the 36th minute of play forced Rögn Borgarnesi's goalkeeper Vilmundur Hermansson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Eggert Leifsson came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Grænu Tófurnar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eggert Leifsson couldn't finish the play. Sæmann Almarsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Vilmundur Hermansson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sigurnýas Jóngeirsson to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Grænu Tófurnar's Eggert Leifsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vilmundur Hermansson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 90th minute, Eggert Leifsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grænu Tófurnar fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 96th minute, Eggert Leifsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vilmundur Hermansson was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Grænu Tófurnar walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
